Meet the Owners

I'm Dee, and Uncle Kenneth is my great uncle—my grandfather's brother.

Growing up, I heard stories about Uncle Kenneth and his pigs. How he started at age six. How he built the whole operation himself. How he wore that pig belt buckle every single day like it was part of his uniform.

But I didn't fully understand what he'd built until Brandon and I moved back to LaGrange with our three kids.

Brandon became fascinated with Uncle Kenneth's stories. He'd sit under the old farm shed for hours listening to Kenneth talk about raising pigs the old way—on pasture, with time and attention, focused on quality instead of speed.

One day Brandon asked, "Uncle Kenneth, would you help me raise a few pigs?"

Uncle Kenneth's face lit up. "We can use my old shed and pasture."

So we started with eight pigs in the exact spot Uncle Kenneth used decades ago. And Uncle Kenneth—who was 88 at the time—came by almost every single day. He'd check on the pigs, offer advice, tell stories, and watch Brandon work.

I'll never forget the day we processed that first batch. Uncle Kenneth was there. He inspected the pork, nodded his approval, and said, "That's good pork. That's the kind of pork people should be eating."

Now he's 90. He still wears that pig belt buckle. He still checks on our pigs. And our three kids—his great-great-niece and two nephews—are learning from him.

When we decided to turn this into a real operation, there was only one name that made sense.

Because Uncle Kenneth didn't just teach Brandon how to raise pigs. He taught us what it means to do something right, to take your time, to prioritize quality over everything else.

And he's still teaching us.

That's why his name is on every package of pork we sell.
